WolfPack beat the Heat again
KAMLOOPS — The Thompson Rivers WolfPack men’s soccer team celebrated their nine graduating members in their last game at Hillside Stadium with a remarkable 4-0 victory over the UBC Okanagan Heat yesterday (Oct 8).
Ryan Lewis scored a hat-trick for TRU, bringing his WolfPack career total to 12 and ranking him fifth in program history. Patrick Izett scored his fourth season goal, while Mikkel Rosenlund and Michael Ojo registered assists. Tyson Gugushe made five saves for UBCO while the WolfPack had a 10-0 advantage in shots at game end.
“When you’re able to do it like that and get the fifth years in, it’s a great night all around and I’m really happy for them,” said WolfPack head coach John Antulov. With this victory, the Pack moved to a 5-6-1 for the season, increasing their lead over the 3-7 Heat for the final playoff spot in the Pacific Division. TRU has three games remaining, while the Heat have five.
The ‘Pack’s next games will be away against UBC Thunderbirds and UVic Vikes, followed by a match with MacEwan Griffins in Edmonton to finish their season.
