COLLINS: Time to give up on our military
THAT HEADLINES HAS BECOME more and more in tune with the federal government’s recent directives. The Liberals have done so much double-talking, it is hard to know if there is any policy coordination at all.
The government needs new fighter planes, so they decide to spend a fortune on a plane that is not suited for our needs and our climate. Then we decide we’re going to stretch the expenditure over a longer timeline — so, in fact, the planes will almost be outdated by the time they get into service.
Headlines a couple of weeks ago touted the fact the Canadian navy had arrived for exercises in Asia. And our two beaters creep into port like dogs with their tails between their legs.
We can’t even give some of our outdated land vehicles to Ukraine because it will cost another small fortune to make them mechanically sound to give away.
