Kamloops set to welcome residents from across B.C. for diversity conference

KAMLOOPS — A two-day conference on accessibility, diversity, equity, inclusion and reconciliation will take place in Kamloops.

In a news release issued Thursday (Oct. 5) morning, the City of Kamloops says it’s welcoming residents, municipal staff and elected officials throughout B.C. for the inaugural Kamloops Municipal IDEA Conference.

“Our goal is to showcase some of the work we have been doing in Kamloops while also learning from the experiences of our peers doing similar work,” Tymmarah Mackie, the City of Kamloops’ Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Consultant, says. “There is so much room for improvement in municipal inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility, and many ways we can innovate and learn from each other.”
