Flu vaccine rollout ramps up next week in B.C.

KAMLOOPS – Flu season is fast approaching and that means it’s time to get your annual flu shot.

This year’s influenza vaccine will be rolled out starting on Tuesday (Oct. 10).

“The flu shot is very important, especially for the people who are vulnerable. For elderly, for people that they travel and people whose immune system is not up to snuff and they require a little bit more protective gear,” Missagh Manshadi, pharmacist and owner of Manshadi Pharmacy, told CFJC Today.

But it is not just for the immune vulnerable. B.C. residents six months of age and older are eligible for a free shot, either by booking an appointment or walk-in at your local pharmacy.
