Category 2 and Category 3 fires to be permitted in parts of Cariboo Fire Centre

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A few days after the campfire ban was lifted, Cariboo residents will now be able to do some larger-scale burning.

The B.C. Wildfire Service says Category 2 and Category 3 burning will be allowed for the northernmost and easternmost areas of the Cariboo Fire Centre, starting at 12:00 noon on Friday (Oct. 6).

The prohibition on larger-scale fires remains in place in the Chilcotin Fire Zone and the Cariboo-Chilcotin Forest District on the west side of the Fraser River.
