Victim stable after Thursday night Valleyview stabbing; suspect in custody

KAMLOOPS — One man was arrested and another taken to hospital after a stabbing in Valleyview Thursday night (Sept. 28).
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says officers were called to a motel in the 1800-block of East Trans Canada Highway at about 8:20 p.m. When they arrived, Mounties found a man suffering from serious injuries.
“Within moments of arriving at the scene, frontline officers had provided emergency first-aid to the victim, and quickly located and arrested a suspect,” said Evelyn. “The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance and is in stable condition. The suspect, a man in his 20s, was taken into custody without issue, to be held for a bail hearing. Both parties were known to each other.”
Evelyn says some officers remain at the scene Friday morning, continuing their investigation.
