Merritt emergency department closures reach baker’s dozen in 2023

KAMLOOPS — For the 13th time in 2023, Merritt residents are without an emergency department Monday night (Sept. 25).

Interior Health says the ER at the Nicola Valley Hospital will be closed from 7:00 p.m. on Monday to 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

The closure is due to limited staffing availability.

Those in need of emergency medical care are encouraged to call 9-1-1 or to visit the emergency department at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
