Bush Creek East fire being held; TNRD and CSRD drop evacuation alerts
SCOTCH CREEK, B.C. — A wildfire that terrorized the Adams Lake and North Shuswap areas is now considered ‘being held’.
The B.C. Wildfire Service made the announcement Monday (Sept. 25). It means the Bush Creek East wildfire is no longer likely to spread beyond its current boundaries.
When the fire is finally extinguished, it will have consumed 45,613 hectares.
In August, the fire merged with the Lower East Adams Lake wildfire and made a lengthy run south toward the North Shuswap communities of Lee Creek and Scotch Creek, destroying large swaths of both villages.
