KAMLOOPS – The Union of B.C. Municipalities Convention wrapped up last Friday (Sept. 22) and Councillor Dale Bass told CFJC Today it was a very good experience. According to her, the ministers were “keenly interested” in what was been discussed.

“There’s obviously an election coming up in the next 12 months, because they were way more positive than they’ve ever been in the past,” she said.

Councillor Bass attended a meeting with Health Minister Adrian Dix and said it was reassuring to see some progress in the cancer care clinic for the city of Kamloops.

“The Ministry is looking to finally expand the existing cancer clinic, so there’s a full service in the city. Obviously that’s going to take a few years. But the very fact that he said the business case is almost done means it’s moving along in the process. It’s just a matter of prioritization,” she explained.
