Candlelight vigil to be held to honor firefighters

CHASE, B.C – A candlelight vigil has been organized at the Chase B.C. Memorial Park today (Sept. 23) at 6 p.m. to honor and pay respect to the four BC Wildfire Service firefighters who tragically lost their lives earlier this week.
Pastor Tyler Harper, from the Chase Evangelical Free Church, will officiate the service. He says, “We are gathering to remember those who died in helping to protect our communities, and we are also honoring those who have been professionally involved here in protecting our community and communities around us during the fire.” Pastor Tyler mentioned they also plan to recognize and share their experiences living through the recent wildfires.
After a few speeches, the group will hold a silent candlelight ceremony at VLA Rodeo grounds for firefighters at Chase Camp who cannot attend the park.
