Rules-based order hangs in the balance as Ukraine fights back against Russia: Trudeau
OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada is making a multi-year financial commitment to Ukraine to give it more predictable and stable support over the next three years.
Trudeau made the pledge in the House of Commons during an official visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, just before the leader of the war-torn country began his own address.
Trudeau is promising another $650 million over three years for 50 new armoured vehicles that he says will be built in London, Ont.
There will also be Canadian trainers sent to help Ukrainian pilots and maintenance workers use donated fighter jets.
