Drivers told to expect delays on Highway 5A north of Merritt

KAMLOOPS — Drivers taking Highway 5A to travel between Kamloops and Merritt can expect delays Friday (Sept. 15) morning.

DriveBC says vehicle recovery is underway on Highway 5A between Monck Park Road and Pennask Lake Road near Nicola Lake and traffic is reduced to single-lane-alternating. Drivers are asked to watch for crews and equipment.

DriveBC first reported of a vehicle incident blocking Highway 5A near Quilchena, north of Merritt, at around 1:15 a.m. Friday.

Another update is due at noon Friday. The Coquihalla Highway between Kamloops and Merritt remains open.
