KAMLOOPS — Police officers from across B.C.’s Interior will roll into Kamloops as part of the 2023 Cops for Kids Ride.

On Friday (Sept. 15) at 4 p.m., the cyclist team made up of 24 law enforcement officials will ride to the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 560 Battle St., concluding day eight of their 10-day fundraising tour.

“The past weeks and months have tested the team already,” Julio Krenz, ride captain and retired S/Sgt. Major Julio Krenz. “In addition to their policing duties, they’ve faced an unprecedented fire season which meant extra overtime hours and poor air quality for training. They’ve proven already that they’re committed to helping local kids by fundraising and training in such challenging times.”

RCMP say the tour is a culmination of each riders’ year-long efforts volunteering at community events, training on their own time, and raising a minimum of $2,500 each so that they can be a part of the team.
