Emergency department at Nicola Valley Hospital experiences temporary service interruption

MERRITT— Interior Health says that Merritt and area residents are advised of temporary changes to emergency department hours at Nicola Valley Hospital due to limited staffing.

The emergency department services will be unavailable from 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10. Patients can access care at Royal Inland Hospital. Meanwhile, other inpatient services will continue as usual at Nicola Valley Hospital.

People who require emergency care (chest pains, difficulty breathing, or severe bleeding) should call 9-1-1 for transportation to the nearest available and appropriate medical facility.
