Blazers win pre-season opener

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers won their first WHL Preseason game 4-2 over the Kelowna Rockets.

The Blazers started leading the game 2-0 in the first period at Sandman Centre last night, but the Rockets tied the game by the third period. Ashton Tait scored the winning goal and Shea Van Olm added in an insurance goal for the Blazers.

Both teams will face each other again tonight (Sept. 9) at Prospera Place, in Kelowna. The game is set to start at 7:05 p.m.
