Car crash sparks fire, forces highway closure near Salmon Arm
SALMON ARM, B.C. — A bush was ignited, and the highway was closed temporarily after a car crashed near Salmon Arm Thursday morning.
RCMP say emergency crews were called to the scene of a motor vehicle crash on Highway 1 near Tappen Beach Road at 5:38 a.m. on Sept. 7.
The vehicle was said to have left the highway, clipped a hydro pole, gone down an embankment and started to burn.
Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire, which ignited a bush in the area.
