CSRD lifts evacuation alert for Anglemont

ANGLEMONT, B.C. — A community in the North Shuswap has been given ‘all clear’ status.

In a news release issued Thursday (Sept. 7), the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSR) rescinded its evacuation alert for all properties in Anglemont. The alert was initially triggered on Aug. 26 due to the Bush Creek East wildfire.

Anglemont residents are told they may encounter hazards on their property due to the wildfire.

The ‘all clear’ status comes one day after a phased rescinding of evacuation orders for 10,000 properties in the North Shuswap. Evacuation alerts remain in effect for North Shuswap communities such as Celista, Magna Bay, Lee Creek and Scotch Creek.
