KAMLOOPS — A planned re-entry for Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) residents in lower west Adams Lake who were forced to evacuated due to the Bush Creek East wildfire is expected Wednesday (Sept. 6) night.

In a news release, the TNRD says the evacuation order for 75 properties in Electoral Areas “O” (Lower North Thompson) and “P” (Rivers and the Peaks) will be downgraded to an evacuation alert Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The TNRD says all of Holding Road will be closed to public traffic daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice as BC Hydro crews continue to repair power infrastructure.

The Adams Forest Service Road remains closed by B.C.’s Ministry of Forests due to potential debris movements and slope instability. Additionally, B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is continuing work on Loakin-Bear Creek Road to remove dangerous trees and debris, so it cannot be used as an alternate route.
