Kamloops children – and parents – excited for the new school year

KAMLOOPS — New school year, new backpacks, new teachers and new friends. Students are excited about it all. However, kids are not the only ones who are happy with school returning.

“It’s really nice to get back into the routine. Summer is a bit chaotic with kids, lots of trips, so it’s nice to get back,” said Sam Gadora, who dropped her daughter off today at Kamloops School of Arts.

Aside from all the excitement, a lot of time, effort and money came into the new school year.

“We had to get the most sparkly backpack, we had to put the colour in the hair. We got a new lunchbox, new water bottle, new everything!” said Ashley Eaton, when picking up her child at school Tuesday (Sept. 5).
