KAMLOOPS — Wildfire smoke has led to Environment Canada issuing a special air quality statement for the South Thompson and Shuswap areas.
In a statement Sunday (September 3) morning, Environment Canada says increased fire activity due to strong winds in northern parts of the Province is leading to increased levels of smoke and poor air quality.
Conditions may still be intermittent depending on local wind patterns. In the southern parts of the Province, smoke conditions will be patchy and localized, especially in areas with local fire activity.
Both regions that are impacted should expect to see smoke around over the next 24-48 hours.
