KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has cancelled the Evacuation Alert created by the Kookipi Creek wildfire. west of Lytton. The original alert for the area west of Lytton was put in place August 17 and included 34 properties.
Image: TNRD map of Koopiki Creek – All ClearThe BC Wildfire Service says upwards of 16mm of rain fell on the Kookipi Creek wildfire this week, assisting firefighting efforts on the blaze. The wildfire is still considered out of control by authorities. It says with a forecast of warm dry weather, there may be increased fire behaviour into the long weekend.
