KAMLOOPS — The BC Wildfire Service says it is pleased with the progress its crews have been able to make on the Ross Moore Lake wildfire.

According to Fire Information Officer Mike McCulley, winds picked up around the southern edge of the wildfire Tuesday (Aug. 29) evening, but crews were able to limit fire growth.

The wildfire received very little rain over the last 24 hours, however, officials are hoping to see more precipitation over the next 24 hours. Even without more rain, temperatures have cooled off which helps to support the firefighting effort.

As of Wednesday morning, there are 40 pieces of heavy equipment working to bring the wildfire under control along with air resources and 138 firefighters.
