Wildfires force ROOTSandBLUES festival to cancel

SALMON ARM, B.C.—After a night of world-class music, the Salmon Arm Folk Music Society (SAFMS) has called an end to the 31st annual ROOTSandBLUES festival as communities in the north and south Shuswap face evacuation orders.
In a news release, SAFMS says that, to keep the community safe, the Society made the decision this morning, amidst evacuation orders and alerts, and after following direct communication with local fire officials and the RCMP.
The SAFMS say they will be in contact with ticket holders with more information in the coming weeks.
