Eight more TNRD properties on evacuation order due to Ross Moore Lake wildfire

KAMLOOPS — Eight more properties within the Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) are now on evacuation order due to the 7,853-hectare Ross Moore Lake wildfire burning south of Kamloops.

In a news release Friday (Aug. 18) evening, the TNRD says a total of 48 properties within Electoral Areas J (Copper Desert Country) and M (Beautiful Nicola Valley – North) are on evacuation order.

In a corresponding move, the TNRD revised its evacuation alert for Electoral Areas J, L (Grasslands) and M. A total of 306 properties are on alert.

Residents in properties outlined in red on the maps attached must leave immediately. Those outlined in orange are on evacuation alert.
