Planned ignitions completed near Ross Moore Lake wildfire; blaze nearly contained
KAMLOOPS — The B.C. Wildfire Service says planned ignitions on the southwest corner of the Ross Moore Lake wildfire have been completed. However, according to Fire Information Officer Forrest Tower, there is still a lot of work to be done.
“A lot of work still left in terms of now patrols, hot spots, mop ups (…) but moving to containment across the whole fire,” he said.
Tower also explained this fire is more stable than the others around the Adams Complex, but strong winds are forecast for the next couple of days, which could increase fire activity. He also asked people to pay attention to skimmer activity and asked boaters to be conscious of that.
