Kamloops and area impacted by widespread smoke
KAMLOOPS — Widespread smoke is expected to linger around Kamloops for Wednesday (Aug. 16) and Thursday.
In a smoky skies bulletin online, Environment Canada says the South Thompson region, along with the Nicola and the Shuswap, are expected to be impacted by wildfire smoke over the next 24 to 48 hours.
As of publication, B.C.’s Air Quality Health Index map ranks Kamloops’ air quality a 10+ on a scale of one to 10, meaning the health risk is very high. The forecast shows Kamloops’ air health ranging from eight to nine from Wednesday morning until Thursday evening.
