Power knocked out for hundreds in downtown Kamloops late Monday night

UPDATE (8:30 a.m.): BC Hydro reports only 10 customers remain without power in downtown Kamloops. Power is expected to be fully restored at 11 a.m.

EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — Power is still out for 280 customers in downtown Kamloops as of Tuesday (Aug. 15) morning.

According to BC Hydro’s outage map, power has been off since 10:31 p.m. Monday due to “pole replacement.” As many as 1,911 customers were without power late Monday night.

The outage is impacting customers southwest of Victoria Street, north of Seymour Street and east of Third Avenue. BC Hydro says crews are on site and power is estimated to be back on at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
