Residents return home, but winds predicted to pick up around Adams Lake fires

KAMLOOPS — Residents within the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) and Thompson Nicola Regional District (TNRD) were able to return to their homes after evacuation orders were rescinded around the Adams Lake Complex.

Winds and heat are forecast for the next couple days, but B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) say they are not likely to affect properties.

“When we are looking at recommendations to rescind those orders, that’s just reflective of lower wildfire risk to that particular area. We really just try and get people back into their homes as soon as possible and that can happen when there’s still a fire burning nearby,” explained Forrest Tower, BCWS Fire Information Officer.
