Gun and drugs seized in traffic stop south of Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A woman was arrested after a drugs and weapons seizure south of Williams Lake.

In a news release issued Monday (Aug. 14) morning, BC Highway Patrol – Williams Lake says an officer stopped a speeding vehicle on Highway 97 near Knife Creek at around 7:00 p.m. Aug. 3.

After a search of the woman’s vehicle, police say they seized a loaded gun, ammunition and drugs suspected to be methamphetamine.

Highway Patrol says the woman in her 30s, who is known to police, faces multiple charges but was released on conditions with a court date.
