Missing man found dead in the Shuswap; police treating it as a homicide

SICAMOUS, B.C. — Police are treating the death of man in the Shuswap as a homicide.

In a news release Thursday (Aug. 10), Sicamous RCMP say a man was reported missing on Aug. 2. During their investigation, RCMP determined the man’s disappearance was due to foul play.

Three days later on Aug. 5, the BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Sicamous where the man’s body was found.

Police say the man’s death was a targeted incident and do not believe there is an ongoing threat in Sicamous.

However, to protect the integrity of the homicide investigation, police say they are not releasing further information about the missing man.
