Foul play suspected in death of man whose body was found on Paul Lake Road Tuesday: RCMP

KAMLOOPS — RCMP say the man whose body was found in the 600-block of Paul Lake Road just outside of Kamloops this week fell victim to foul play.

In a news release issued late Saturday afternoon (Aug. 5), Staff Sgt. Jason Smart of the Southeast District Major Crime Unit identifies the victim as Jason Aran Martin of Kamloops.

Martin’s body was found along Paul Lake Road just after midnight Tuesday morning (Aug. 1).

“Investigators believe that Mr. Martin’s death was an isolated event and that no public threat exists,” said Smart.

Mounties are now looking for witnesses or dashcam video that may have captured evidence related to Martin’s death.

Anyone who has video from Paul Lake Road, the Halston Connector or Highway 5, taken between 10:00 p.m. Monday and 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, is asked to contact Southeast District Major Crime at 1 (877) 987-8477.

In addition, anyone who had contact with Martin on Monday is also asked to contact police.
