Kamloops RCMP seek suspect in North Shore stabbing Wednesday

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are investigating a stabbing that took place on the Kamloops North Shore Wednesday (Aug. 2).

In a news release, Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of Kamloops RCMP says it happened at about 1:30 p.m., near the intersection of Eighth Street and Brentwood Avenue.

Upon Mounties’ arrival, they found a 37-year-old Kamloops man receiving attention from a bystander. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

“Witnesses have described an Indigenous man who is approximately 5’9″ tall, with short buzz cut hair wearing cargo pants, black boots and no shirt fleeing the scene,” said Shoihet. “The man was last seen heading toward the grocery store gas bar, prior to disappearing down the alley in the Fortune Shopping Center. At the time of the attack the suspect may have been wearing a green zip-up hoodie.”
