TNRD issues evacuation alert for 12 lakefront properties due to Bush Creek East wildfire

ADAMS LAKE, B.C. — While the Lower East Adams Lake wildfire threatens the east side of Adams Lake, another fire is bearing down on the west side.

Thursday afternoon (Aug. 3), the Thompson Nicola Regional District issued an evacuation alert for 12 properties along the Adams West Forest Service Road due to the Bush Creek East wildfire.

The lakeshore properties lie between the Bush Creek Forest Service Road and Agate Bay.

They include:

  • 1908 Adams West FSR;
  • 1912 Adams West FSR;
  • 1920 Adams West FSR;
  • 1924 Adams West FSR;
  • 1932 Adams West FSR;
  • 1936 Adams West FSR;
  • 1940 Adams West FSR;
  • 1948 Adams West FSR;
  • 2380 Adams West FSR;
  • 2408 Adams West FSR;
  • 2416 Adams West FSR;
  • 2424 Adams West FSR;

Residents there must be ready to leave on very short notice.

In an update posted to its website Thursday, the B.C. Wildfire Service says northerly winds Wednesday led to rapid growth on the western flank of the fire that is bearing down on the lake.
