ADAMS LAKE, B.C. — Despite growth downslope toward the community of Dorian Bay Wednesday evening (Aug. 2), the BC Wildfire Service reports there were no structures lost to the Lower East Adams Lake wildfire.

In an update issued Thursday morning, the service says crews were able to hold the 2,500-plus-hectare wildfire north of Rawson Road.

The service says an updated distance and location of fire growth will be provided once an aerial assessment is complete. Additionally, the service says there will be more resources for battling the wildfire as they become available.

Following the update, there have been no changes to evacuation orders or alerts issued by the Thompson Nicola Regional District, the Columbia Shuswap Regional District and the Adams Lake Indian Band.
