Motorcyclist injured in crash with Kamloops police cruiser dies in hospital

KAMLOOPS — A motorcyclist who was involved in a crash with a Kamloops RCMP vehicle has died.
In an update Thursday (Aug. 3), B.C.’s police watchdog — the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) — says the man died in hospital on Tuesday, Aug. 1 after sustaining serious injuries.
According to the IIO, RCMP were called to Highway 1 at Holman Road at approximately 10:55 p.m. July 22.
An officer responding to an unrelated incident parked and exited their police vehicle. A short time later, there was a collision between a motorcycle, the parked police vehicle, and another stationary emergency vehicle.
