Two Quesnel teens robbed at gunpoint, carjacked
QUESNEL, B.C. — The search is on for two suspects following a robbery early Thursday morning in Quesnel.
RCMP say they activated a pursuit after two youths were robbed at gunpoint and had their vehicle carjacked at the 711 located on Maple Drive.
Quesnel Sgt. Richard Weseen says police responded at 2:46 a.m. and note a male and female suspect approached the two youths, presented a firearm and demanded their wallets and car keys. He says the pair complied and the suspects fled in their 2013 Chevrolet Malibu (BC License plate SJ946R).
“While responding to the call, the police located the vehicle travelling down Plywood Hill on Johnston Avenue. When the police activated their emergency equipment, the vehicle fled through Johnston Subdivision and then south on Highway 97. A pursuit was initiated but as the stolen vehicle was entering Kersley, the pursuit was terminated due to the high rate of speed and the risk to public safety,” says Weseen.
