Small wildfire pops up Thursday near Del Oro

KAMLOOPS — A new spot-sized wildfire has popped up in the Kamloops area.

According to the B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS) website, the Disdero Lake fire was discovered Thursday morning (July 27) just south of the Del Oro community, between Barnhartvale and Monte Creek.

BCWS says the fire is still small and is believed to have been caused by lightning.

The service notes it is hitting the fire with a full response, meaning it is treating it as a threat to property or infrastructure.
