Rivers FC conclude second season with a draw and loss to Vancouver Whitecaps Academy

KAMLOOPS — Rivers FC wrapped up their second season in the League1 BC semi-pro soccer league from McArthur Island Park Sunday (July 23).

The men’s club earned a point with a 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps Academy. Alessandro Comita scored on a penalty kicked in the 46^th minute to give Rivers the 1-0 lead before the Whitecaps found the equalizer in the 77^th minute.

On the other side, the women fell to the Whitecaps 6-0 in their season finale.

Both Rivers FC squads ended the 2023 season out of the playoff picture. The men finished sixth in the table with 16 points – four wins, six losses and four draws – in 14 matches. The women finished eighth in the table with three points – one win and 13 losses – in 14 matches.
