Motor vehicle incident closes Highway 97D in both directions

KAMLOOPS — A motor vehicle incident on Highway 97D between Logan Lake and the Coquihalla highway has led to a road closure in both directions.

According to Stephanie Dunn with B.C. Emergency Health Services, crews received a call on Sunday (July 23) at 11:27 a.m. about the incident. Five units responded to the accident but no patients were transported to hospital.

It is unclear at this time what caused the incident nor if there are any injuries or fatalities. DriveBC says a detour is available by taking Mamette Lake Road through Highway 97C.

CFJC News has reached out to Kamloops RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service for comment.
