KAMLOOPS — The Shuswap Emergency Program says the Lower East Adams Lake fire is burning away from populated areas.
In an update to the Columbia Shuswap Regional District website Friday (July 21), the program says the fire is about 2.3 kilometres from the nearest structure.
It has now been mapped at 219 hectares, a significant increase from Thursday, though officials note that is likely due to more accurate mapping rather than fire growth.
On the west side of Adams Lake, the B.C. Wildfire Service says the Bush Creek East fire remains at 310 hectares.
