Man charged with assault and forcible confinement after victim found in rural Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — A man was arrested and held for a bail hearing after Kamloops RCMP were called to an assault report last week.
In a news release issued Thursday (July 20) morning, RCMP say the man is charged with three counts of assault – including by choking, suffocating or strangling – forcible confinement and mischief.
The charges stem from Friday (July 14) at around 3:20 p.m. where officers responded to a third-party report that a woman was being assaulted at an unknown location.
Through the investigation, police were able to find the victim in rural Kamloops. With the assistance of the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment and the Police Dog Service, the suspect was taken into custody.
