Interior Health urging caution over smokey skies
KAMLOOPS – Smoke from wildfires has been covering skies across over the province.
Though Monday’s sky over Kamloops was looking a little clearer than last week, Interior Health is reminding everyone to take precautions when the air quality index is greater than level four.
“It’s really important to check the air quality forecast it’s usually in the same place you would check the weather forecast,” Dr. Carol Fenton, Interior Health medical health officer said. “It’s really important to check in with yourself, monitor how you’re feeling– if you are having symptoms.”
Fenton said those with pre-existing health conditions and asthma are especially at risk.
