Trans Canada closed between Revelstoke and Sicamous after major collision

REVELSTOKE, B.C. — The Trans Canada Highway is closed for a lengthy stretch between Sicamous and Revelstoke after a serious vehicle incident Wednesday afternoon (July 12).

Drive BC reports the closure in both directions from Revelstoke to a point 26 kilometres east of Sicamous. Webcams show a significant traffic backup in both directions.

Details of the incident have yet to be released.

Drive BC says its next update on the situation should be expected at about 7:00 p.m.
