Evacuation Alert issued for Branch Road area

KAMLOOPS — The Cariboo Regional District has issued an Evacuation Alert for 27 parcels in the Branch Road Area due to wildfires in the region.

The area covers 19,329 hectares and residents should prepare and be ready to evacuate at any time now.

According to a news release, the district says individuals will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation, but may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.

Further information will be issued by the District as it becomes available and residents are encourage to register for the Cariboo Chilcotin Emergency Notification System to receive updates regarding Evacuation Alerts and Orders.
