More than 1,000 customers without power in North Thompson corridor

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: BC Hydro says power has been restored to the vast majority of affected customers.

EARLIER: BC Hydro crews are working to restore a power outage up the North Thompson Valley.

According to the utility’s website, the outage was caused by a motor vehicle incident and affects 1,016 customers from Barriere to north of Little Fort.

The power has been out since about 9:17 a.m., and BC Hydro does not have an estimated time for it to be restored.
