Campfire ban to be reinstituted in Kamloops Fire Centre Friday

KAMLOOPS — For the second time this season, the Kamloops Fire Centre will be subject to a campfire ban.

In a news release, the B.C. Wildfire Service says a prohibition on campfires comes into effect throughout the fire centre on Friday (July 7) at 12:00 noon.

In addition to campfires, the prohibition also covers:

• Fireworks
• Sky Lanterns
• Burn Barrels or Burn Cages of any size or description
• Binary Exploding Targets
• Air curtain burners
• Tiki and similar kind of torches
• Chimineas
