NorthPaws prepare for Canada Day weekend festivities

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops NorthPaws are hoping a regional rivalry and some Canada Day fireworks help turn their fortunes around.

After being swept by the Portland Pickles in Oregon, the 5-19 NorthPaws will play a Friday (June 30) game in Kelowna against the Falcons before the Kamloops-Kelowna rivalry shifts to Norbrock Stadium for a pair of Canada Day long weekend matchups.

Canada Day celebrations on Saturday will include Canadian food dish specials at “The Kanteen, music by Canadian artists, Canadian themed contests, an appearance by the Kamloops Dance Gallery, a bouncy castle and face painting. First pitch is 6:35 p.m.

Then on Sunday, the NorthPaws and Falcoms play on Save-On-Foods Family Day that features a watermelon eating contest, a parent/child three-legged race, a push up competition, face painting and a bouncy castle. Opening pitch is 2:05 p.m.
