PORTLAND, OR — It was a far cry from the 24 runs put up on Monday night, but the Kamloops NorthPaws still suffered defeat on Tuesday in Oregon. After taking just one of three in Corvallis, the ‘Paws were in Portland for the first of a three game set versus the Pickles, dropping the opener 4-2.

Kamloops local Tyrelle Chadwick got the start for the ‘Paws, pitching five innings of six hit, three run ball. Offensively it was the double-play combo of Tommy Green and Cooper Neville bringing home the only runs of the contest for Kamloops in the fourth inning, as the Pickles were able to shut down the hot-bats, limiting the NorthPaws to just three hits.

Game two goes Wednesday night in Portland.

Kamloops will return home for a Canada Day tilt with the Kelowna Falcons.
