Suspect arrested after Aberdeen resident returns home to find stranger inside

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say an Aberdeen resident surprised a potential burglar in the act last Friday.

In a news release, RCMP say the incident happened before 10:40 a.m. Friday. Officers responded to a home in the 2000-block of Muirfield Road, where an occupant had returned home to find someone inside.

A suspect was located nearby and arrested. The 32-year-old Kamloops man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for two counts of breach of probation.

RCMP say the suspect is now charged with an additional count of breaking and entering.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has further information, such as video, is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file number 2023-22146.
