KAMLOOPS — Replica pistols led to a pair of weapons calls in Kamloops over the weekend.

In a news release, RCMP say the first happened Saturday (June 24) at about 4:20 a.m. along Schubert Drive.

A person called police at that time, claiming they had been shot at several times from a passing Nissa Pathfinder.

Investigators attended, finding a matching vehicle on Juniper Avenue.

Two men were arrested and have since been released with court dates and conditions.

Police seized a hatchet, bear spray and an airsoft pistol, and say there is no indication an authentic firearm was used.

Anyone with further information on the incident is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at (250) 828-3000 and refer to file number 2023-22280.

The second incident took place at about 4:20 p.m. the same day.

Police were called to the area of McGill Road and Columbia Street West for the report of a man with a gun getting onto a city bus.

Once the suspect was off the bus, police seized a pellet gun, knives and bear spray.

The items were turned over to police for destruction and the suspect was free to go without charge.
